Hydra-Fusion™ combines high-efficiency fine-bubble aeration with Hydra-Bubble™ hydraulic mixing to create a fully integrated process solution that independently optimizes oxygen transfer and basin mixing.


Unlike conventional aeration systems that must simultaneously provide oxygen and circulation, Hydra-Fusion allows each process to do exactly what it was designed to do.

The result is improved process control, lower operating costs, more uniform basin conditions, and increased treatment performance.

Why Separate Mixing from Aeration?


Most treatment plants increase blower airflow whenever additional mixing is required; even if oxygen demand is not needed.


That means operators often spend energy moving water when the objective is not to add oxygen.


Hydra-Fusion changes that.


Fine-bubble diffusers remain dedicated to maximizing oxygen transfer, while Hydra-Bubble™ provides powerful hydraulic circulation using low-pressure macro bubbles. This allows mixing to be achieved far more efficiently than increasing aeration airflow alone.

 

Based on comparative hydraulic performance, Hydra-Bubble delivers approximately 9.3× greater hydraulic mixing effectiveness than fine-bubble diffusers, allowing equivalent mixing with up to 89% less energy than increasing blower capacity solely to achieve basin circulation.


Each system can operate independently or together, enabling operators to precisely match energy consumption to actual process requirements.


Rather than forcing one system to perform two separate functions, Hydra-Fusion optimizes oxygen transfer and hydraulic mixing independently, maximizing process performance while minimizing operating costs.


Engineered for Maximum Process Performance


Hydra-Bubble generates large-scale hydraulic circulation using low-pressure, large-volume macro bubbles. These bubbles rapidly rise through the basin, moving tremendous volumes of water while contributing minimal oxygen transfer.

Fine-bubble diffusers remain focused on what they do best; efficient oxygen transfer.


Together, the two technologies work in synergy:


  • Oxygen-rich water is continuously redistributed throughout the basin rather than just rising to the surface. 
  • Dead zones are minimized. 
  • Dissolved oxygen remains more uniform. 
  • Biomass stays suspended. 
  • Oxygen is delivered where microorganisms need it most. 


The result is a more stable biological process with improved treatment efficiency and greater operational flexibility.
